Job Summary:

n

Responsible for operating autoclaves and other equipment to clean, decontaminate and sterilize instruments and equipment, including power equipment as applicable. Also responsible for inspecting and assembling instruments, trays and packs.

Details of the position

    Assist in the orientation and training of new caregivers as directed by the Sterile Processing Tech III, Sterile Processing Tech Lead or Supervisor Sterile Processing.

    Responsible for the coordination, assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Responsible for ordering supplies and Re-stocking inventory.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, and equipment in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.

    Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies.

  • n

    Operate a variety of sterilization equipment.

  • n
  • n

    Clean and maintain department equipment.

  • n

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum of 1 year Required: Experience in sterile processing

    Required: Certified Registered Central Service Technician or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician

    Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician

  • n

Tech III

n
    n
  • n

    3 years Required: Experience in sterile processing with experience in all surgical specialties

  • n

    Required: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or Certified Registered Central Service Technician

    Required: Certified Instrument Specialist

    Minimum of 1 year Required: Experience in a Sterile Processing setting , with experience in all surgical specialties

    Required: Experience with Neuro, Ortho, and General Surgical instrumentation

    Required: Certified Instrument Specialist

    Required: National Sterile Processing/Distribution Certification

    Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)
