Position Details:
  • Hours Per Week: 40 hours - M-F 1430-2300 (Plus Call)
  • SEIU Local 49 represented position.
Job Summary:
  • The Sterile Processing Technician II prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms.
  • Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location.
  • Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use.
  • Patient care equipment is collected, cleaned and stored between patient applications.
  • Responsible for tracking some rental equipment.
  • They will work in the operating area to ready supplies and instruments for specific surgical procedures, turn the rooms between cases and assist in moving and lifting patients.
  • The SP Tech II will also assist in training newly hired technicians.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 9 months.
  • Six months experience in Healthcare Materials Management or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.
