SPC Mechanical
Responsibilities
Lead BIM coordination efforts for assigned projects, representing SPC in meetings and ensuring model quality meets company standards.
Translate 2D drawings into advanced 3D BIM models, ensuring constructability and compliance with building codes.
Perform clash detection, quantity extraction, scheduling analysis, and documentation for mechanical and plumbing systems.
Direct and mentor BIM Drafters, Spoolers, and Assistant Coordinators.
Generate detailed shop drawings, spooling documentation, and piping assembly plans for fabrication and installation.
Maintain equipment libraries, drawing files, and ensure adherence to naming conventions and standards.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and design teams to meet project goals and timelines.
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent technical training, plus 1+ year of relevant experience. Advanced proficiency in BIM platforms: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks; and productivity tools like BlueBeam, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word. Deep understanding of MEP systems, construction sequencing, and field installation practices. Strong mathematical and spatial reasoning skills, including geometry and trigonometry. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and produce clear documentation. Proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt to dynamic project environments. Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional field exposure to weather, mechanical equipment, and elevated workspaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and mobility. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
