Responsibilities

THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

It is the responsibility of this role to maintain molding machines to meet standards for efficiency and productivity output.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a safe working environment.

Fully trained in all Amcor policies and safety procedures, including Safety Absolutes & LOTO.

Responsible for following all safety procedures and being mindful of the safety of co-workers.

Startup machines.

Checks mold change schedule, pre-stage molds for the next day hanging schedule.

Ability to assemble and disassemble molds and components.

Learn, understand, and perform mold changing procedures.

Maintain mold change supplies.

Maintain mold electrical cords and electrical supplies.

Maintain mold hoses and hose supplies.

Adjust the process to meet quality product standards.

Perform repair work on molds and machines as necessary.

Perform all other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Assist in other departments as requested by the manager, supervisor and/or lead person.

Executes paperwork required for job.

Perform housekeeping duties as required.

Be on call as needed.

Help keep tooling supplies and inventory.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

High school diploma or equivalent

Trade School, Technical, or Mechanical certificate is a plus

Prior plastic injection molding experience is highly preferred.

Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Basic computer skills including email, word processing, simple spreadsheets and use of electronic forms.

Tow Motor Certification

Must be a team player

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to take direction and work with minimal supervision

Accountability - Holds self-accountability by say/do ratio, initiative and ownership actions (such as ensuring safety is more important than productivity)

Problem solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.

Self-starter with eagerness to learn and take initiative

Read and comprehend complex, detailed instructions and correspondence

Write simple correspondence

Effectively present information orally in a one-on-one or small group situation

Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions

Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations

Add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Read a ruler in 1/32 of inch increments, dials, micrometers and various pieces of measuring equipment to within .001 of inch accuracy
