9/3/2025 Overview: Calculated Hire is in search of a Workday Payroll Analyst for our Fortune 100 Financial Services company Payroll Product Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, possess strong skills in business analysis, and be comfortable with agile tools such as Jira. This role requires working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, write user stories, and perform testing to ensure accurate payroll functionality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Payroll functionality, processes, and configuration. Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Translate business needs into detailed user stories and functional specifications using Jira. Conduct end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate Workday payroll configurations and integrations. Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues and defects in Workday. Assist with payroll system upgrades, patches, and enhancements. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and internal policies. Maintain accurate and updated documentation of processes, configurations, and workflows. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education. Experience working with Workday, with a focus on Payroll. Strong understanding of US payroll processes, tax regulations, and reporting requirements. Proven experience in requirement gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder communication. Experience with Jira for managing user stories, bugs, and agile workflows. Proficient in writing clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. Hands-on experience in testing payroll configurations, including validation and reconciliation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
