Eleven Recruiting is seeking an Operations Manager for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in high-mix, low-volume production of mission-critical flight hardware. This role will oversee daily manufacturing and operations functions at the Brea, CA facility, ensuring precision production of complex components while driving operational excellence, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, personnel development, production scheduling, and adherence to customer delivery commitments-all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Manage all daily manufacturing operations across machining, forming, coatings, sub-assembly, and composites, ensuring quality, throughput, and efficiency goals are achieved. Develop, execute, and adjust detailed production plans to ensure all customer orders are completed and shipped on schedule. Monitor work-in-progress and proactively address bottlenecks, material shortages, and schedule conflicts to maintain on-time delivery performance. Partner closely with supply chain and procurement to ensure material and tooling availability for current and upcoming jobs. Fully own the facility's P&L, monitoring revenue, cost, and margin performance while identifying opportunities to improve financial results. Implement and sustain process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Maintain strict compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and industry standards across all operations. Lead, develop, and mentor production supervisors, leads, and operators to build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and program management teams to resolve technical issues and meet delivery commitments. Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure equipment readiness to support production schedules. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all EHS policies and regulations. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in operations or plant management within aerospace/defense manufacturing. Proven track record in managing precision manufacturing operations involving metals (titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys) and composites. Deep knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) and compliance requirements. Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume environment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with external customers.
