Description

This position provides administrative support to the Director of Clinical Education within the Department of Physician Associate Medicine.

Examples of Duties

100% Administrative Support for Clinical Coordination/PA Program

1. Prepare, initiate, and track the renewal of education affiliation agreements and amendments for the SIU PA Program. Assist with affiliation agreement audits and updates. Maintain affiliation agreements spreadsheet and information. (20%) 2. Coordinate the process of new education affiliation agreements between SIU Legal and affiliates acting as a liaison of the SIU PA Program and the Lincoln Scholar Program. (20%) 3. Compile and analyze data from Phase I Mentor, Phase II Mentor, Phase II Preceptor, and Phase III Preceptorship evals. Maintain evaluations and CME spreadsheets and assist the Director in assigning Category 1 CME credit to and preparing letters and certificates for PA Mentors and Preceptors. (15%) 4. Assist the Director with Phase 1 student orientation, including Mentor Clinic paperwork and placement forms. Collect and maintain student ACLS & BLS certificates. (5%) 5. Assist the Carbondale and Cape Girardeau hubsite coordinators in verifying and securing student placements for Phase I, II, and III PA students (5%) 6. Compile and maintain Alumni data; disseminate job postings; request Alumni Contact forms from new graduates; distribute info to faculty, as requested; facilitate poster requests. (5%) 7. Request Phase II student information for biosheets and hubsite posters. Format biosheets and posters & disseminate information to hubsite faculty and clinical facilities. (5%) 8. Assist with the coordination and maintenance of the adjunct faculty/preceptor/mentor paperwork and master clinical rotation schedule, including entering into the HR database. (5%) 9. Obtain Drug Testing and TB testing options for student placement for Carbondale hubsite Phase II students. (4%) 10. Supervise team projects within Clinical Coordination, as required & under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education. (3%) 11. Assist Director of Clinical Education with communication to clinical site staff, as needed. (3%) 12. Correspond with Phase II & Phase III clinical facilities and PA Program Alumni to obtain Certificates of Insurance. Request & send COI, when applicable. (3%) 13. Obtain and maintain Phase II & Phase III student contact information spreadsheets. (2%) 14. Create and maintain Phase I & Phase II program documents, including Background Check Certificates, Letters of Good Standing, OSHA/HIPAA Certificates, and Immunization Certificates, and distribute to faculty and clinical facilities as necessary. (2%) 15. Create and update Phase II evaluation information poster and distribute to students. (1%) 16. Collect student assignments &/or proctor exams in the absence of faculty, as needed. (1%) 17. Other duties as assigned. (1%)

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree. 2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or experience working in higher education, a healthcare or office setting, a legal office, or education within business, law, or science fields. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience, which can include business administration, health administration, higher education, or law.)
