Maintenance Technician II
Location : Chicago Heights, IL
Shift & Hours : 3rd shift from 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Pay Rate :

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team in Chicago Heights, IL. This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure operations run safely and efficiently. You'll play a key role in ensuring product quality, equipment reliability, and a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, building systems, and facility grounds Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Ensure equipment operates safely with all machine guarding in place Document maintenance activities accurately and completely Respond to maintenance calls promptly and prioritize tasks with supervision when needed Support startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures for production lines Assist in writing SOPs and operating procedures Maintain compliance with GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and quality standards Practice good housekeeping and maintain a safe, clean work area Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE Communicate effectively with teammates across all shifts during hand-offs Continuously seek improvements and participate in Lean and 5S initiatives Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Prior general maintenance experience with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Basic troubleshooting knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs Familiar with CMMS systems for work orders and time tracking Entry-level skills in welding (ARC/MIG), metal fabrication, and machine shop tools Willingness to work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications
Formal training in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines Previous experience in food manufacturing or other regulated industries Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methods Key Competencies
Safety-first mindset Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Willingness to spend most of the shift on the production floor Proactive approach to equipment maintenance and continuous improvement
