Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing technical design, planning optimal performance of and executing on mission critical enterprise systems and complex operating systems. This position also executes on projects for technology needs at the Credit Union, including technical expertise. In addition, this position makes recommendations of redesign, configuration of operating systems and system applications. This position provides support as an individual contributor and partners with the IT team and leadership to provide complex operating system expertise.

Essential Duties • Manages the day-to-day operations of the credit union's host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software. Works with vendors to assist support activities. • Assist with new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired. • Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. • Follow guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, backup libraries and other components. • Follow procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications. • Assist in the administration of the Local Area Network (LAN) hardware and software support to ensure proper network performance for all business productivity applications. • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources. • Assist Member Contact Center Management with phone system programming requests, troubleshoot system issues and recommend hardware/software upgrades to maintain phone system uptime while meeting organizational needs in regards to phone system functionality. • Enter trouble ticket information into Help Desk database to maintain appropriate problem tracking and resolution. • Assist with ensuring all computer equipment is updated with the latest security patches to build a layer of defense against attacks on all systems and possible data breaches. • Provide/administrate all system upgrades, replacements and additions to credit union desktops, servers, hardware, and software to ensure employees have the proper tools to perform their tasks. • Assist in the study and evaluation of hardware and software to make sound purchasing decisions regarding new hardware and software. Formalize forecasting and budgeting for hardware and software purchases. • Provide primary contact for contractor work involving hardware reallocation and reinstallations to ensure accurate completion of projects and soundness of equipment is maintained. • Assists in identifying risks, threats, and vulnerabilities to network, and information systems while making recommendations to eliminate or minimize the identified risks, by analyzing available IT products and makes recommendations for hardware and software solutions that will create an efficient and secure IT infrastructure. • Provide assistance with Information Technology Audit preparation and respond to assigned audit findings/recommendations to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations while instituting best practices in the industry.
