Responsible for managing telecommunications/network technology, including management of servers within the scope of responsibilities, wireless networks, local area network/wide area network operations in a multi-site environment.

2. Prepare/maintain documentation of network and systems/devices within the scope of responsibilities. 3. Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems, including servers within the scope of responsibilities, network equipment, and software applications. 4. In collaboration with Information Technology department management, develop network security procedures and policies within the scope of responsibilities. 5. Assists in reviews of infrastructure/network security components and provides recommendations for the enterprise and in the development of appropriate risk mitigation strategies. 6. Monitors the internal control systems to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained for the network infrastructure. 7. Performs periodic technical and non-technical evaluations, based upon existing security policies within the scope of responsibilities. 8. Meet with a variety of users to determine quality of service, identify needs, and initiate service and operation improvements. Isolates and resolves complex problems utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools. 9. Maintains awareness of current threats and vulnerabilities within the scope of responsibilities. Makes recommendations on threats and vulnerabilities within the system's area. 10. Responsible for design, functionality, implementation, and ongoing support of network infrastructure, remote access, VPN, and firewalls. Assists with VMware management using systems/tools/devices for other areas as defined by management. 11. Supports the implementation of new security products/services for the college within the network/telecommunication infrastructure area. 12. Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all backups/failovers for network/telecommunication infrastructure devices, systems, and servers within the scope of responsibility. 13. Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement of network infrastructure devices/ systems and servers within the scope of responsibility. 14. Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources. 15. Maintains excellent communication with the Director of Infrastructure and Project Management on all tasks and projects. 16. Assists in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining the Information Technology Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan(s). 17. Manages and troubleshoots networks, intranet, and internet connectivity throughout the college. 18. Responsible for evaluation, testing, and deployment of software and hardware upgrades to the network infrastructure. Assists the Infrastructure Team in evaluation, testing, and deployment of software and hardware in the virtual infrastructure. 19. Adheres to college, federal, and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives, and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations. 20. Performs other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum:

Certification(s) in networking or related field, and 3 years related work experience. Preferred:

Preferred -- Associate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and three years related work experience. Core Competencies
