* Multiple openings available * General Overview: Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care. Essential Responsibilities: Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%) Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%) Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%) Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) Performs other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: Minimum: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years' relevant experience and current preceptor status Medical Command eligible PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN Valid Driver's License EMSVO within 30 days of hire ACLS within 30 days of hire ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire PALS within 30 days of hire CPR American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred: Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician.
