Nurse Manager RequirementsMust always present as courteous and professional.Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks.Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion:Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner.TB screeningCompletion of the HPTC de-escalation trainingStrong and effective verbal, written and organizational skillsKnowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical recordsAbility to provide leadership and program development within an outpatient siteKnowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practiceStrong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.Nurse Manager Duties & ResponsibilitiesCompliance with the Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients and HIPAA Regulations;Compliance with DPH, DMH, Joint Commission, DEA and all other regulatory agencies as required;Knowledge of ASAM criteria;Monitoring of patient needs related to filling practitioner orders, administration of medications, monitoring vital signs, coordinating medical care, monitoring withdrawal (COWS/CIWA);Assist with discharge planning and care coordination activities;Provide brief crisis counseling, individualized risk management and safety planning;Provide psychoeducation to both patients and staff related to medical/nursing areas of expertise;Ensure patient care meets best practice standards;Ensure compliance with all governing regulations and payor guidelines;Ensure compliance with High Point policies and procedures;Participate in the recruitment, hiring, promotion, training, and evaluation of nursing staff;Assist in developing nursing and medication records on each patient;Reviews and make recommendations regarding policies and procedures;Reports to Infection Control Committee as needed;Assist in monitoring inventory, ordering of medications, and equipment needed for daily operation of the unit in collaboration with the pharmacy;Responsible for the fiscal management i.e. nursing budget for the unit;Participate in quality assurance and implementing quality improvement planning, including Tally Card, CQI and/or failure mode projects;Reviews Incident Reports and Sentinel Events, as required;Provide supervision for nursing staff personnel;Participate in all required committee meetings;Responsible for the proper disposal of medications;Responsible for the scheduling of nurses to maintain adequate nursing staffing patterns to manage the day-to-day operation of the unit;Monitors both open and closed charts for correct and complete documentation;Assists in the development and monitoring of programming schedules;Attends monthly Nurse Managers meeting to maintain consistency in nursing practice;Attend mandatory training to update knowledge base and enhance both professional and personal growth;Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Site Director / COO to insure safe and appropriate operation of the program(s).Nurse Manager QualificationsFive to eight years of direct care experience within a behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment setting;2-5 years supervisory experience preferred;Current and unrestricted license in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Long & short term disability Discounted auto/home and renters insurance 403b - Retirement FSA & DCAPFMLEmployee Assistance Program Bonuses & ReferralEligibility for free classes to become a Licensed Counselor or Recovery CoachCompany paid CEU Trainings w/ Education days to complete CEU'sFree meals at select programs (when available)Unmatched Leave Time (FT employees can earn up to 3 weeks in first year) Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
