Hiring: Assistant Program Director

Location: Woodridge Interventions | 2221 64th Street Woodridge, Illinois, 60517

We're seeking a solutions-oriented and collaborative Assistant Program Director to join our multi-disciplinary treatment team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of clinical substance use counselors and you will provide oversight and coordination of professional, administrative and clinical activities. Specific responsibilities include program development and management, supervision of staff and establishment of positive community relations through ongoing collaboration and communication with relevant professionals and agencies. The position requires a balance of clinical and administrative leadership. Salary Range: $105,000 to $120,000 Annually Job Type: Full-time

Assistant Program Directors responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Planning, organizing, directing and controlling the management and delivery of quality client services within a defined substance abuse treatment program. Reviews clinical treatment program services and results; ensures compliance with program and Foundation standards and objectives, applicable contracts, regulations and accreditation standards. Recommends program budgets, goals, and policies; and ensures effective implementation and administration of same. Interviews, hires, oversees the training and development of, schedules, assigns work to, evaluates the performance and competence of and, when necessary, disciplines and discharges subordinate staff in accordance with established personnel policies. Develops staff retention programs. Develops and recommends program goals and objectives and designs and implements appropriate plans to meet agreed-upon goals. Assists subordinate supervisors in developing and meeting goals and objectives for their areas of responsibility. Conducts regular meetings with program staff to communicate program goals, objectives, and short- and long-term plans, to provide advice and guidance in resolving complex case problems and to conduct staff in-service training. Maintains and fosters cooperative working relationships with a variety of referral resources and services, community organizations and criminal justice and social services agencies. Maintains and enhances knowledge and expertise through appropriate educational and organizational activities. Creates an annual personal development plan to increase management skills, abilities and competence. Serves on internal and external committees as assigned. Required Education | Licensure | Skills | Abilities Preferred Master’s Degree Preference given to someone that holds an active Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor license - IAODAPCA certified, Illinois. Experience in supervising clinical substance use counselors. Experience in training staff and implementing evidenced-based practices including Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Knowledge and experience with ASAM Criteria, 3rd Edition with a willingness to be trained on ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition. Ability to work independently and be self-directed and flexible. Must be able to teach and monitor delivery and documentation of services to ensure that contractual obligations are met in accordance with DHS/SUPR, JOINT COMMISSION and other standards. Leadership, problem-solving, and executive skill sets Strong working knowledge of state requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures Superb time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to function well in a high-paced and challenging environment Adept at learning and navigating Electronic Health Record systems Minimum of 5 years management experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field required. This position will provide leadership for residential programs serving primarily adult clients; as such, experience with the adult population is preferred. Experience with managed care entities, accreditation standards, and measuring effectiveness of programs a plus.
