Do you have a CDL-A? Looking for steady and stable year-round employment that makes a difference in your community? Road Maintenance Workers are critical to the community's safe and efficient roadway system. They perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to, tree and brush removal, flagging, highway and street repairs, grading, pothole patching, repair of drainage systems, and winter snow removal. A person in the role must be able to use a chainsaw comfortably, locate utilities, set grades, and understand basic survey equipment. GTCRC is a safety-focused organization that uses equipment and technology to assist in these duties. In the winter, Road Maintenance Workers may be required to work overtime, responding to emergency weather conditions, and work early mornings and late nights to keep the roads safe by removing snow and ice. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a hands-on role, and can comfortably drive a truck for hours at a time in the winter. A standard work week is 4 - 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday during the summer months, and 5 days per week in the non-summer months. Winter hours may require work more than 5 days a week and more than 40 hours, depending on the weather. This job is located in beautiful Northern Michigan, home to miles of shoreline and trails, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
