Plusses: APICS or ISM professional certification Experience leading cross-functional kaizen or lean initiatives.
Day to day: Insight Global is looking for a Materials Manager for one of our largest fortune 250 clients to sit in Saegertown, PA. As a Materials Manager, you will lead materials management activities in a high-performance, lean manufacturing environment. This role is critical to optimizing inventory, improving customer experience (LISC), and driving strategic planning across the supply chain. You’ll work cross-functionally with sourcing, IT, production, and leadership teams to ensure efficient material flow and data accuracy. Responsibilities: Lead materials and production planning for the facility, ensuring alignment with customer demand and inventory goals. Serve as the plant process owner for inventory management, auditing processes to ensure compliance and effectiveness. Drive corrective actions for late backlog and lead root cause analysis for on-time delivery issues. Implement lean materials management practices, including material flow and inventory control. Support demand forecasting, supply planning, and capacity planning (SIOP). Analyze inventory trends and execute plans to meet Days Sales of Inventory (DSI) targets. Establish standard reorder and delivery procedures. Ensure part data accuracy and configure MRP parameters to support customer experience. Communicate LISC and backlog risks to customer-facing teams. Lead and support kaizen events at the plant, GM, and presidential levels. Develop and mentor materials management team members, building a strong talent pipeline.
