About the role

The Inventory Technician is responsible for all Ripple Fiber Outside Plant (OSP) inventory management at multiple locations within the market. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with engineering and design, purchasing, distribution, and construction to ensure the material ordered is received, secured and maintained, and allocated to the appropriate projects and personnel. Responsible for managing inventory, coordinating shipments and deliveries, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing direction to any supporting staff. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of fiber optic products and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Manage inventory: Maintain accurate records of all fiber optic products and materials in the warehouse. Monitor inventory levels and order replenishments as needed. Coordinate shipments and deliveries: Plan and schedule shipments of fiber optic equipment to customers and coordinate deliveries from suppliers. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Organize storage space: Optimize warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and efficiency. Ensure that fiber optic products are stored safely and securely. Provides direction to supporting staff: Request help when support required. Train, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to ensure efficient operations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations: Implement and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly. Maintain equipment: Oversee maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to ensure smooth operations. Coordinate with other departments: Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance to coordinate activities and ensure customer satisfaction. Work with purchasing to raise and track material purchase orders (POs). Work with distribution partners to ensure material deliveries do not disrupt construction schedules. Coordinate with shipping companies on the delivery of materials. Track and report the material delivery dates, inventory on hand, and material issued to personnel on a weekly basis. Identify and report missing and/or shortages in inventory. Implement quality control measures: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality of products. Implement procedures to minimize errors and defects. Manage documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other warehouse activities. Generate reports as needed for management and regulatory purposes. Stay informed about industry trends: Keep up to date with developments in fiber optic technology and industry best practices. Implement new technologies and processes to improve warehouse operations. Operate a forklift or other material handling equipment as needed. Represent Ripple Fiber to vendors, contractors, clients, and the community.

Qualifications:

Experience in inventory management, preferably within the telecommunications or fiber optics industry. Comfortable with handling and organizing sensitive, high-value fiber network components. Proficient in inventory software and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, receiving/shipping processes, and stock rotation practices. Strong attention to detail with ability to perform accurate stock audits and reconcile discrepancies. High school diploma or equivalent required.
