About the Opportunity: James Search Group is partnering with a global property & casualty (P&C) insurance leader to recruit a
Claims Manager
specializing in
excess construction liability claims . This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage high-severity claims across the U.S., including complex litigation and NY Labor Law exposures. Candidates with a strong background in construction-related excess casualty claims will thrive in this dynamic and collaborative environment.
Compensation: Base salary range:
$120,000 – $160,000 , plus
bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, and 401(k) .
Key Responsibilities: Handle a portfolio of
excess construction liability claims
nationwide, including matters involving
New York Labor Law , catastrophic losses, and multi-party litigation. Perform thorough
coverage analysis , evaluate liability and damages, and establish timely and appropriate reserves. Attend and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and trials—both virtually and in person—as needed. Deliver strategic claim guidance and updates to internal stakeholders including underwriters, profit center leaders, actuaries, and reinsurers. Analyze trends and contribute to risk management strategy across the excess construction book.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum
5 years of experience
handling
excess construction claims , including experience with
NY Labor Law
exposures. Strong litigation management, negotiation, and settlement skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a collaborative mindset. Willingness to travel as required by caseload and business needs. Must hold or obtain necessary
adjuster licenses ; preference for candidates with broad licensure.
