Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forester and support forest land procurement, management planning, timber harvesting, and overall forest operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring sustainable forest practices, contract compliance, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of forestry principles, safety practices, and contract management, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Promote and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations. Maintain personal and team safety, responding to and supporting safety concerns and initiatives. Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, landowners, clients, and stakeholders. Support and collaborate with the Operations Manager on all forest operations. Lead forest land procurement and develop both long-term and short-term forest management plans. Create and maintain Tree Growth plans for company-owned and client woodlands. Ensure Tree Growth compliance as per legal requirements. Determine optimal cutting and harvesting methods with minimal environmental impact and waste. Oversee timber sales and cutting programs to meet production goals. Develop and manage NRCS forest practice contracts. Prepare and manage documentation, invoicing, and payment follow-ups. Negotiate and monitor contracts for harvesting, leasing, and management of forest lands. Supervise and support forestry workers and contractors. Assist with timber procurement from private landowners and other sources. Plan and lay out forest access roads and post boundaries for sales and rights-of-way. Monitor and manage stumpage purchases and harvesting operations. Ensure all activities comply with environmental laws and regulations. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Forestry or a related field. Experience and Skills: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Forestry or related industry (preferred). Strong understanding of forest management theories, practices, and regulations. Familiarity with logging systems and operations. Proficiency in mapping, GPS, and forestry equipment usage and maintenance. Ability to work independently with high ethical standards and professionalism. Strong documentation, negotiation, and project management skills.
