We are seeking a
Technical Product Manager
to lead the lifecycle of our mission-critical
3rd party integration platform —the backbone of how external systems connect to our SaaS application. These integrations include
flat file exchanges, secure FTP processes, and real-time APIs , and are essential to our customers' businesses, requiring
24/7/365 reliability . This role requires deep technical fluency, hands-on validation, and close collaboration with engineers, tech leads, customer-facing teams, and external partners. You'll shape and execute the roadmap, prioritize development, and ensure production readiness for integrations that power core customer workflows.
Must be able to juggle several complex initiatives at once and provide strategic direction while remaining close to the technical details.
Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Technical Leadership Own the
product roadmap
for 3rd party integrations and keep it aligned with business goals. Translate business and partner requirements into
clear, actionable user stories
with testable acceptance criteria. Lead
technical discovery
with engineering to assess feasibility, risks, and implementation paths. Continuously evaluate and improve the
performance, security, and scalability
of integration workflows. Ensure technical documentation, partner specs, and internal process maps are well maintained.
Agile Execution Prioritize and groom the backlog with attention to value, effort, risk, and sequencing. Lead
sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
in collaboration with engineering and QA. Oversee integration release schedules, rollout plans, and partner communication. Triage production issues and drive incident response workflows in collaboration with support and DevOps.
Program Governance Govern the overall integration strategy and platform standards across all partner relationships. Define and enforce repeatable onboarding processes for
new partner integrations . Track program KPIs, such as integration availability, onboarding velocity, and support incident volume. Identify systemic issues and champion cross-team initiatives for improved platform stability.
Partner & Stakeholder Management Serve as the
technical liaison
for external integration partners, reviewing their API/flat file specs and resolving data alignment issues. Partner with legal and finance to evaluate integration feasibility during vendor onboarding. Collaborate with customer support and account managers on escalated integration problems and edge case handling.
Skills & Tools Required Core Product & Technical Skills Experience as a
Technical Product Manager
or Technical Program Manager within a
SaaS environment . Proficiency with
flat file integration workflows , including CSV/XML transformation and delivery over
SFTP . Strong working knowledge of
RESTful APIs , including testing, authentication schemes, error handling, and payload design. Familiarity with
data normalization ,
data contracts , and
schema versioning
in partner ecosystems. Comfort with defining or reviewing
OpenAPI/Swagger specs .
Prototyping & Technical Validation Skilled in using
Postman
for validating partner APIs, automating test suites, and exploring undocumented behavior. Ability to use
Claude
or
ChatGPT
to accelerate research, reverse-engineer example payloads, and prototype new workflows quickly. Capable of building rough POCs or technical diagrams to communicate ideas clearly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Experienced in cross-team collaboration with
Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Support . Ability to balance long-term platform health with short-term customer demands and incident escalations. Deep understanding of integration dependencies across business workflows.
Agile & Backlog Management Fluency in using
Jira, Confluence , or similar systems to maintain backlog clarity and transparency. Excellent user story writing, including edge case handling and measurable acceptance criteria.
Communication & Vendor Interaction Skilled in technical communication with
external vendor engineers
and internal development teams. Experience negotiating integration timelines and clarifying ambiguous technical specs from 3rd parties. Ability to produce
clear documentation
for internal audiences and external partners alike.
