Job Overview Spike is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to take full ownership of our inventory management and control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will oversee a large inventory (valued at approximately $20 million) and lead the inventory team to ensure optimal stock levels and accurate records. The Inventory Manager will focus strictly on inventory control, collaborating closely with our Shipping/Receiving and Purchasing teams (without directly managing those functions) to meet production schedule demands. Our ideal candidate has at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, extensive knowledge of inventory management best practices, and the ability to keep inventory levels as low as efficiently possible while avoiding shortages. Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics is mandatory) and strong leadership skills are essential for driving efficiency and continuous improvement in this role. Key Responsibilities ► Oversee Inventory Operations: Take full ownership of all inventory control processes for the company, managing inventory valued up to ~$20 million with a focus on accuracy, security, and efficiency. ► Inventory Tracking Systems: Design and implement effective inventory tracking systems and control procedures to optimize stock management. ► Lean Inventory Management: Apply lean inventory principles (e.g. Just-In-Time strategies) to minimize excess stock while still meeting production requirements. ► Demand Planning & Adaptability: Continuously monitor production schedules and sales forecasts, and adjust inventory plans accordingly. ► Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the Shipping/Receiving department and the Purchasing team to ensure proper inventory flow and replenishment. ► Inventory Audits & Accuracy: Perform regular cycle counts and spot checks to verify inventory accuracy and support annual audits with the Quality Systems Manager. ► Process Improvement: Develop, document, and enforce inventory management policies and SOPs; implement best practices and drive continuous improvement. ► Reporting & Metrics: Track key inventory metrics and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management. ► Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the inventory control team, train and mentor staff, and ensure a safe, organized warehouse environment. ► Issue Resolution: Act as the point of contact for inventory-related issues and implement corrective actions. Qualifications and Experience ► Minimum 5 years of inventory management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. ► Extensive knowledge of inventory control principles, demand forecasting, and stock optimization. ► Mandatory proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics ERP system for inventory control and reporting. ► Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions. ► Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. ► Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments. ► Proven leadership experience in managing and training inventory teams. ► Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field preferred. ► APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus. ► Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems beneficial. ► Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments with a continuous improvement mindset.
