We are supporting a leading retailer in their search for a Category Manager to drive cost-effective and strategic procurement across capital expenditures (CapEx), facilities management, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). This is a

60 day contract to permanent

role.

Key Objectives

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for CapEx projects, facility services, and MRO supplies. Optimize supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to improve cost, quality, and service levels. Support operational teams by ensuring timely and efficient procurement of critical goods and services. Monitor category performance against budget and KPIs, recommending corrective actions as needed. Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and vendor management.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies. Lead RFP/RFI processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations for CapEx and MRO categories. Manage vendor relationships to ensure compliance, performance, and innovation. Analyze spend data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply risks. Maintain a 12-month procurement calendar for major CapEx initiatives and recurring MRO needs. Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, safety standards, and sustainability goals. Prepare and present category performance reports to senior leadership. Partner with Finance and FP&A to track budget adherence and forecast future spend. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to facilities and MRO.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred. Experience: 5-7 years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement. Proven track record managing CapEx, facilities services, and MRO categories. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Experience with ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.
