He/She oversees preparation of project designs, drafting and plans.

They also conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction phase, to monitor and ensure construction complies with the architectural and engineering plans provided.

They will be responsible for preparing operating and maintenance manuals, as well as various studies, and reports.

Will direct activities of other architects, intern architects, and designers responsible for preparing drawings and specification documents.

He/She can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solution.

Works closely with the Practice Leader to execute project plans.

The ability to assess existing Facilities for deficiencies to correct and to describe accurately for cost estimating.

The Senior Architect administers a variety of building projects for public and/or private clients.

Works independently and directly with the client on projects and requires little guidance and is responsible for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost effective, designs/drawings.

He/she must be a creative, detail-driven, team player, able to work independently, yet be accountable to and interested in the bigger picture.

They will assist their team to achieve highquality design, deliver projects on schedule and on budget, while keeping eyes open for innovative opportunities to improve the process, plan or project.

Performs other duties assiggned.This position works under the direction of the Design Services Leader and requires the knowledge, skills and abilities related to medical architecture and healthcare facilities.

Essential Functions: 1.

Conceptual Design: A.

Utilize innovation in design and methods.

B.

Develop design concepts, recommend systems and produce pricing and proposal documents as well as, outline specifications.

Detailed Design: 1.

Analysis Ability ▪ Researches, documents and is responsible for design compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards and regulations.

▪ Applies specific technical standards and procedures.

▪ Ensures that designing for Safety is incorporated into drawings.

Detailing ▪ Comply with the QIP and ensures office standards are used.

▪ Responsible for document checking and interdisciplinary coordination processes.

Checks specifications to ensure that they do not conflict with the drawings.

▪ Coordinate work with other disciplines, including outside consultants as applicable.

Perform interdisciplinary coordination check to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions in drawings and specifications.

▪ Leads the production of well-organized, high quality finished drawings in appearance, accuracy, and clarity.

Construction Documents ▪ Manages production of a complete coordinated set of construction documents.

▪ Signs and seals design documents when assigned as Professional of Record.

Construction Support: A.

Coordinates the review and checking of discipline shop drawings and submittal data.

B.

Reviews applicable shop drawings and submittal data for compliance with construction documents.

C.

Serves as discipline field interface with design team during construction.

D.

Advises and assists Construction Project Managers, Superintendents and Subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents.

E.

Participates in construction inspection to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings and specifications.

Prepares inspection reports and punch lists.

F.

Provides solutions to field problems, responds to RFI's and prepares field orders and addenda.

G.

Leads production and archiving of record drawings and specifications.

H.

Assists Design Manager with project closeout.

Participates in post construction review process.

• Coordinate with project manager and RCC’s consultants • Review and compile project information and as-built documents • Conduct On-Site Inspections and Photo-documentation of existing facilities.

• Produce detailed construction documents including progress updates and revisions.

• Compile project specifications from government database • Ensure work is carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.

• Implement project’s quality control process.

• Assist in coordinating and obtaining approvals from regulatory authorities • Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organization activities • Be aware of possible business development opportunities for the firm.

• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree in Architecture is required.

• Ten to Fifteen Years of progressive experience as a licensed Professional Architect with design and construction experience.

• Experience in Healthcare and/or hospital Projects is required.

• Valid/Active Architectural Registration is required in at least one state.

• NCARB Certification is preferred.

• LEED accreditation preferred.

Required Skills: • Excellent communication skills as the role will heavily interact with various team members and customers.

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks without constant supervision is required.

• Ability to research technical requirements from federal websites.

• Ability to conduct building inspections of occupied spaces in a healthcare environment.

• Understanding of MEP building systems in a healthcare environment.

• Understanding of Life Safety requirements in a healthcare environment.

• Understanding of Architectural Building Components and Systems in a healthcare environment.

• Ability to train and mentor staff in a positive manner to allow individuals to grow within the industry and firm.

• Computer literate requirements; o Microsoft Office Program Suite, o Team Meetings, o AutoCAD and REVIT, o Autodesk Design Review and Adobe Positions reporting to this position: Architect, Architect-in-Training.
