Position Summary Our client is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join their collaborative and high-performing legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a transactional attorney to transition into the renewable energy sector. Prior experience in energy is not required-candidates will receive hands-on mentorship and training to develop the specialized knowledge needed to succeed in this space.

Key Responsibilities Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders, helping to navigate complex transactions and mitigate risk. Assist with corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, by supporting due diligence, contract negotiation, and deal execution. Contribute to strategic initiatives by evaluating legal risks and opportunities associated with partnerships, acquisitions, and other business activities. Collaborate with internal teams-including Development, Finance, Engineering, and Operations-to support the legal needs of utility-scale energy projects throughout their lifecycle. Receive mentorship and training to build expertise in the renewable energy sector and its unique legal frameworks. Initially support the drafting, review, and negotiation of a variety of commercial agreements; as you gain experience, you will take ownership of key contracts such as engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and land control documents.

Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Minimum of 2 years of transactional legal experience, including contract drafting and negotiation. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Interest in the renewable energy sector and a willingness to learn and grow within the industry.
