Key Responsibilities: Accurately classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Prepare and submit customs entries using ACE/ABI systems Ensure all import documentation aligns with federal laws and internal policies Communicate with CBP, Partner Government Agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA, EPA), and clients Proactively resolve shipment holds, exams, and related issues Stay current with U.S. import regulations and CBP updates Oversee documentation accuracy, including commercial invoices, ISFs, and entry summaries Advise internal teams and clients on customs-related matters Coordinate cargo release and delivery with logistics partners Assist with compliance audits and operational improvements Train and mentor junior customs staff
Qualifications: Active U.S. Customs Broker License (Required) 3–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, import compliance, or freight forwarding Strong understanding of import regulations, HTS, and PGA requirements Proficient in ACE, ABI, and customs entry systems Experience with logistics/transportation software is a plus Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Meticulous attention to detail and compliance
