The

BIM Coordinator, BIM Services Group

is a trusted member of the BIM services group’s production arm, responsible for assisting with the set-up, ongoing maintenance, and issuance of all BIM projects company wide. Reporting to the Assistant BIM Manager, BIM Services Group, Production, the BIM Coordinator assists with the implementation of project set-ups, updates, and issuances, with the upkeep of departmental standards, and with the execution of project scanning, filing, and archiving. The BIM Coordinator also assists in supporting the department’s function as a training center for employees.

Qualifications A minimum of 1-6 years of professional experience and/or 4-year degree or an associate degree in engineering, architecture, or similar industry. Eager to support staff with a positive attitude, passion, and patience. Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion. Proactive approach to learning new technology software. Intermediate interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. Utilize skills to fit MGE’s IT infrastructure and standards as necessary. Knowledge of design: Revit 2019-2024 AutoCAD 2022 Navisworks: Freedom and Manage BIM 360 Bluebeam Microsoft Office Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle and priorities. Must be able to manage strict timelines with multiple projects to meet deadlines under high-pressure environment.

Expectations

Trade-Specific Competency – For BIM Services Group Level 2 (Intermediate Proficiency) Create initial AutoCAD & Revit project setup and updates and prepare for the design production team. Support team members with creation of Revit families, view templates, work sets, shared parameters, and tags. Demonstrated ability to competently update models and run coordination review tool for revisions. Assist in creating BIM/Revit technical documents.

Assist with 3D Modeling for marketing MEP design projects using Modeling Software like Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, Twinmotion. Assist with drawing issuances and DOB approvals. Integrate Revit products with other third-party applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD CUI customization, configuration, and deployment Support files Display settings Open and save settings. Printer configurations Plot and publish settings. Graphics and system settings User Preferences Drafting and 3D modeling settings Selection settings AutoCAD profiles Assist MEP design engineers with AutoCAD and Revit usage questions and troubleshooting. Report to Senior BIM Coordinator and Assistant BIM Manager.
