The Domestic Violence Attorney will provide brief services, advice and legal representation to survivors of domestic violence in their family law matters before the San Francisco Unified Family Court.

Essential Job Functions Provide brief services, advice and legal representation to survivors of domestic violence in their family law matters Staff legal clinics providing brief services at San Francisco shelters Work closely with JDC supervising attorney and other project staff attorneys Work closely with JDC staff on on-going reassessment and adjustment of project design and delivery of services. Coordinate with grant partners to draft and submit quarterly and biannual reports to office located in downtown San Francisco, during business hours, which are Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm; and at the San Francisco Court House.

Working Conditions Work is performed remotely or in an open area workstation at BASF’s office located in downtown San Francisco, during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm; and at the San Francisco Court House. This position also requires heavy telephone and computer use.

Education: J.D. is required Licensed member of the California State Bar in good standing

Experience: Three years minimum family law litigation Experience working with survivors of trauma and/or low-income communities preferred

Skills and Requirements: Excellent oral written, and client service skills Able to effectively interact with low-income clients, judges and court staff, co-workers, and staff at other nonprofits Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Skills and Qualifications: Ability to communicate in and understand Spanish preferred
