Position Summary

The Buyer 3 is a senior-level procurement professional responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services critical to Eastek's manufacturing operations. This role requires strong supplier management, cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement aligned with production schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Source and procure raw materials, electronic components, mechanical parts, and indirect goods and services to support manufacturing operations. Collaborate with engineering, operations, sales quote management, and local manufacturing site purchasing teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications, cost targets, and delivery timelines. Negotiate purchase agreements with key suppliers to continuously reduce costs, shorten lead times, and improve service levels. Evaluate supplier quotes for accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with project requirements. Prepare and issue RFQ's, analyze bids, and award contracts for high-impact purchases. Resolve issues related to defective or non-conforming materials in coordination with quality control and suppliers. Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, and ERP system updates. Monitor market trends, lead times, and supply ricks to proactively manage inventory and mitigate disruptions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers and support staff. Collaborate with inventory control teams to monitor stock levels, lead times, reorder points, and usage trends to optimize inventory turns.

Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/sourcing experience in electronics manufacturing or a similar high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment. Strong knowledge of electronics components, PCB's, mechanical assemblies, and contract manufacturing processes. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with international sourcing and supplier development, particularly in Asia. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality management systems. APICS or ISM certification is a plus.
