About the position
The primary role of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is to equip and sustain the Australian Defence Force’s materiel capabilities to meet Australia’s defence and national security needs. The CASG Washington branch (CASG-W) manages the delivery of equipment, training, services and repairs; provides Defence clients with procurement support and management; and specialist advice and assistance on procurement.
The Commercial Procurement Manager sits in the CASG-W Commercial team, providing support to Defence projects undertaking procurements involving US Industry and/or the US Government. The Commercial Procurement Manager is responsible for achieving commercial, contracting and procurement outcomes, in accordance with legislative and policy requirements. The position works under limited direction to the Senior Commercial Procurement Manager and works with the Director Contracting Operations and other team members, both in the Washington and London offices, to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to service delivery.
Remuneration package
Salary USD $92,412 - $108,108. Please note – new starters commence at base of salary range.
Performance Management Locally engaged staff engaged in an ongoing or fixed term capacity are eligible to participate in the performance management system. Staff who are employed on 31 March, are preforming at the required levels, and have worked in the role for at least 100 working days are eligible to receive a salary advancement of one increment OR a bonus of two percent if at the top of their level.

Please be advised that you must be 20 years of age at time of employment to be registered with the Office of Foreign Mission (OFM).

This position is a designated security assessed position. Applicants must be a citizen of Australia to apply. Employment in the advertised position is dependent on the employee having or acquiring a valid DFAT recognised security clearance. Security clearances can take several months to process, and employment cannot be commenced until an appropriate clearance is confirmed. There is no guarantee that the successful candidate for the position will be successful in obtaining a clearance. The inability to obtain a clearance prevents that applicant from being employed and loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment.
