Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate:
$30.00-$48.00/hour Benefits:

Mold Design Engineer Responsibilities:
Develop and improve tooling (molds), jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids in support of production operations. Collaborate closely with production leadership to design and model components and tooling using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. Support project estimation by providing engineering input to sales, quoting, and planning teams. Maintain and update technical drawings, CAD files, and related design documentation. Identify and implement improvements to enhance manufacturability and process efficiency. Other duties as assigned.
Mold Design Engineer Skills and Abilities:
Must demonstrate strong analytical, decision-making, and time-management abilities. Capable of juggling multiple projects while delivering high-quality results on schedule. Sound knowledge of engineering documentation, control, and GD&T standards. Effective communication skills – both verbal and written – are necessary to work across departments. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Mold Design Engineer Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field. At least two years of experience in mold design, tooling development, or plastics processing is desirable but not required. Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools is essential. Familiarity with polymer materials, their performance characteristics, and processing constraints is a plus. Understanding of mold making, design techniques, and construction methods is preferred. Exposure to root cause analysis techniques and quality tools such as FMEA, 5 Whys, DFMEA, or Design of Experiments (DOE) is advantageous.
