About the Role The Irrigation Manager oversees irrigation operations across multiple branches, develops strategic plans for irrigation services, and ensures operational excellence while managing supervisory staff and maintaining business profitability. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Manage and develop Irrigation team Establish and implement company-wide irrigation standards, protocols, and best practices Create and oversee annual irrigation department budgets and growth targets Develop training programs for irrigation staff at all levels Monitor and analyze irrigation department performance metrics and KPIs Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards Evaluate and implement new irrigation technologies and methodologies Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and industry partners Coordinate with department and branch managers to ensure safe and seamless service integration Resolve escalated customer issues and maintain high customer satisfaction Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 3-5 years of experience in irrigation systems installation, maintenance, or management Valid driver's license with clean driving record Proven supervisory or team leadership experience Strong understanding of irrigation principles, systems, and components Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in horticulture, agriculture, landscape management, or related field 7+ years of experience in commercial irrigation management Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) or Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) certification Experience with irrigation design software and CAD programs Knowledge of water management regulations and conservation practices Previous experience managing multi-location operations Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred) Experience with budget development and financial management Familiarity with modern irrigation technologies including smart controllers and weather-based systems
Physical Demands: While performing the essential duties of the job, the position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling for extended periods, heavy lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs, manual dexterity, wrist-finger movement, digging using shovels. Working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, dirty environment, temperature extremes and weather conditions, intense noise, hazardous materials. Must be physically coherent and aware at all times when dealing with heavy machinery and equipment or while driving. Ability to work in office environment and field visits Ability to travel between branch locations Computer work and communication device usage
