Key Responsibilities:
Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below. Purify high-quality recombinant cytosolic, secreted, membrane, and refolded proteins. Validate proteins through quality control experiments such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, binding, and enzymatic assays. Perform biophysical analysis of proteins and/or protein complexes using mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques. Develop and optimize protein purification strategies and biophysical methods to support drug discovery programs. Share experimental results in team meetings and advise on best practices for generating protein reagents used in biophysical characterization, structural biology, assay development, screening, hit identification, and immunization. Required Qualifications: PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular & cellular biology, biophysics, or a related field with 2–4 years of experience; or BS/MS with 6–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in industry. Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry instruments and their maintenance, along with other biophysical techniques. Strong expertise using AKTA purification systems and a solid understanding of modern protein purification techniques. Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a passion for continuous learning. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with the Waters BioAccord mass spectrometer or a similar platform. Experience with biophysical techniques such as mass photometry, thermal shift assays, fluorescence spectroscopy, etc. Understanding of upstream and downstream processes including molecular biology, cell culture, protein expression, structural biology, and assay development. Familiarity with the drug discovery pipeline and how protein reagents contribute to various stages. Ability to recognize critical path activities and prioritize resources to support project advancement.
