We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Purchasing Manager to lead a commodity team focused on driving a high-value supply chain across the North American region. This role is instrumental in enabling competitive advantage and improving year-over-year operating income. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in sourcing plastic and metal components, raw materials, and protection components while leading cost-reduction initiatives and supplier development. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate with global cross-functional teams and supplier partners to implement commodity strategies, manage supply contracts, and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement that meets both plant operations and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver improvements in total landed cost, targeting year-over-year savings. Lead and develop the purchasing team to grow leadership and functional excellence. Implement a formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework to prioritize innovation and become a customer of choice. Work closely with Advanced Purchasing and other functions to support optimized customer quote costs. Communicate commodity strategies clearly, defining preferred suppliers and initiating advanced cost-saving initiatives. Establish and implement best-in-class supply chain processes. Foster strong internal and external relationships to improve sourcing performance and strategic alignment. Execute global sourcing strategies and manage supplier contracts effectively. Support operational KPIs, including inventory and delivery performance.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience managing commodities such as plastics, metals, raw materials, or protection components. Strong technical knowledge of materials and cost drivers within assigned commodities. Demonstrated success in commodity strategy development and execution. Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Sales, Program Management, and Operations. Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset and leadership acumen. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-performance environment. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Skilled in managing conflict and navigating challenges effectively.
