Overview The VDC Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects utilizing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies and methodologies. This role involves overseeing the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other digital tools to optimize project delivery, enhance collaboration, and ensure high-quality results within budget and on schedule. The VDC Manager will work closely with internal teams, external contractors and stakeholders to drive project success and innovation in construction processes.
What You Will Do Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies and methodologies. Drive innovation by staying current with VDC trends and advocating for continuous improvement in construction the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other digital tools to improve project delivery and collaboration. Represent the company in business development, client engagements, and industry events. Act as he primary liaison between internal teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to align on project goals and execution.
Key Responsibilities
VDC Strategy & Execution Lead implementation of VDC tools (e.g., 3D modeling, clash detection, simulation software). Oversee digital model creation and VDC data accuracy and accessibility. Monitor quality of VDC deliverables and implement risk mitigation strategies. Project Planning & Coordination Manage schedules, budgets, and resources across all project phases. Ensure coordination across design, construction, and VDC teams. Stakeholder & Client Management Act as the main point of contact for all stakeholders. Lead client meetings and presentations, communicating VDC value and project status. Clash Detection & Constructability Identify and resolve design conflicts before construction starts. Budget & Schedule Oversight Monitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective use of VDC resources. Keep projects on track financially and schedule-wise. Progress Tracking & Reporting Track project milestones and performance. Address issues and apply corrective actions as needed. Team Development & Mentorship Assist senior leadership with training direct reports. Mentor non-direct reports on VDC procedures and best practices. Business Development Collaborate with the Director of VDC and Business Development teams. Participate in sales meetings, client relationship building, and networking events.
What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. 3–5+ years of AEC industry experience. 2–3+ years of experience leading BIM coordination efforts. Proven track record managing construction projects with VDC/BIM focus. Expertise in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Construction Cloud, and similar tools. Strong understanding of construction lifecycles, contract development, and project delivery methods (Design-Build, CM at Risk, IPD). Familiarity with 4D/5D simulations and cost/time modeling. Proficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, or comparable project management tools. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to travel for site visits and client engagements as needed.
Work Environment The position is office-based or remote but requires occasional site visits to monitor progress and collaborate with on-site teams. Collaborative environment (virtual or in person) with frequent team meetings and project briefings. Some travel may be required depending on the location of the projects.
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 per year
