Our team is looking for a

Senior Contracts Specialist

based out of Houston, TX. This is a contract opportunity lasting 12-months with the potential to extend. This position will be responsible for supporting the Operations department in coordinating end to end contracting from requirements definition, bidding, sourcing, negotiating, and securing agreements; planning, determining contract strategy, selecting contracting methods, identification of contract risks and putting in place risk mitigation, along with negotiation and finalization of contracts.

About you: 7+ years related contracting / procurement experience in the oil & gas or construction industry, LNG strongly preferred CSCP, CPIM or CPSM certifications a plus Proficiency in SAP Clear understanding of contracting and procurement processes Strong negotiation skills Strong ability to coordinate and lead the bidding process Strong understanding of control principles Proficiency in Open Text a plus

About the role: Support business with Contracting requests and determines Contract Strategy (existing agreement, new agreement, sourcing, bidding etc.) Manage development, evaluation and execution of contracts and amendments for materials and services (M&S), professional services, or other contracts including related controls and approvals. Identifies, develops and implements opportunities for cost savings in contracting. (i.e., terms and rate negotiations, renewals, service levels, etc.); works with legal for endorsement on changes to model agreements Support business in review and preparing Scopes of Work for contracts. Monitor contract and ensures that renewal or replacement contracts are in place such that there are not lapses in service availability. Lead bidding activities for projects, high value purchases, and other scenarios, as required, including providing advisory activities/recommendations on scopes of work, required exhibits, and other bid documents. Perform Supplier Qualification on vendors with financial considerations, safety, references, IT risks, technical capabilities, any conflicts, etc. Analyze and document contract deliverables and requirements (KPI’s) and monitors for efficiency Participates in internal assessments and in resolution of gaps Support P2P activities; identifies, develops and implements opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements Provide updates and reports regarding contracting / purchasing status to stakeholders and management on a regular basis
