Design Engineer 2
for a
4-month contract (with Possible Extension)
position with a client in
Bloomfield, CT 06001.
In this role, you will be working on retrofitting designs for many product lines, including circuit breakers, switchgear, and panelboards. Support the product line design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program/product requirements.

Rate Range:
$60/hour to $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Type:
W2 Only, No C2C Candidate Education/Technical Requirements: Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of engineering experience. Experience with 3D CAD Software design, modelling, and Bills of Materials Familiarity with mechanical design for mechanisms, thermal performance, and structural performance. Ability and interest in working with their hands to assemble, test, and root cause. Proven ability to analyze test data and solves design issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change/results.
Roles and Responsibilities Your work will include, but not be limited to: Support the product line design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program/product requirements. Plan, execute, and report on the technical design, schedule, and test results of a program with guidance from senior engineering resources. Design, develop, analyze, and document product designs that meet the functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements of the customer or market. Demonstrate conformance to Product Technical Specifications and international standards using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability methodologies. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work and present material for technical review, including but not limited to tolerance loops, drawings, bill of materials, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management, and Failure root cause analysis reviews. Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs that may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts. Support the manufacturing implementation of products through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Develop and execute test plans, including prototype design and assembly, and root cause analysis.
