We have an immediate, full-time need for a skilled, energetic, and driven Senior Information Assurance Specialist. Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Information Assurance & Security Specialist on our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for proactively reviewing information systems for the effectiveness of implemented security controls, expertly identifying potential security risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring strict compliance with relevant frameworks such as NIST and OWASP, and seamlessly integrating security practices within Agile environments. This role requires hands-on technical experience in networking and system administration. This role will be part of a dedicated security engineering team which is part of a larger team that is responsible for safeguarding the organization's critical information assets and ensuring a robust security posture. Senior Information Assurance & Security Specialist Job Duties Conduct regular reviews and assessments of existing information systems to verify the effectiveness of implemented security controls. Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing (or coordinate with external teams) to proactively identify security risks and weaknesses. Analyze security configurations and logs to detect anomalies, potential threats, and compliance deviations. Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NIST, OWASP, and other relevant compliance frameworks. Participate actively in Agile team meetings, providing security guidance and ensuring security requirements are integrated into development sprints. Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for networking and system administration tasks from a security perspective. Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, escalating as necessary and participating in incident response activities. Prepare clear and concise written reports documenting security assessments, findings, and recommendations for remediation. Communicate technical security information effectively to diverse audiences, including developers, project managers, and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with system administrators and network engineers to implement and maintain security tools and technologies. Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, particularly those related to networking and system administration. Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training for end-users. Assist in the preparation for and participation in internal and external security audits. Document security configurations, processes, and procedures. Troubleshoot security-related issues across the IT infrastructure. Security Clearance Requirements: Top Secret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Experience Requirements: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required, Cloud Certification preferred. A minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience is preferred. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Desired Skills / Qualifications: COMPTIA Sec + required, Win/Linux Exp Preferred; ability to research and learn both independently and as part of a team; must have reliable Internet access Location: Fairmont, WV Status: Full time Schedule: Day shift, MondayFriday Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long dur tions of time.
