Job Description Summary The Secure Solutions Group within the System’s Engineering Directorate is seeking a System Security Engineer to support engineering, integrating, and deploying trustworthy secure platforms that resist cyber, reverse engineering, and supply chain threats. The group has multidisciplinary proficiencies in secure systems architecture, hardware security and resilience, software security and resilience, system validation and accreditation, and cryptography. Responsibilities include: Work with cross-disciplinary teams of system, hardware, and software engineers to support program execution. Communicate with program members, program offices, and sponsors to present work to the technical and evaluation community. Support development of system architectures for secure solutions from a systems engineering perspective. Analyze systems developed by Draper, customers, and sponsors to evaluate effectiveness and suitability. Duties/Responsibilities Develop, execute, and track security measures to protect information and network infrastructure. Design cybersecurity architecture and develop security strategies. Identify, define, and document system security requirements; recommend solutions. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure hardware and software. Monitor systems for security breaches and set up preventive measures. Develop and update the company’s information security strategy. Educate and train staff on security best practices. Contribute to technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance. Adapt to changing program requirements and communicate needs to leadership. Skills/Abilities Curiosity-driven problem solving in a multidisciplinary environment. Effective communication with technical and non-technical team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related; Master’s preferred. Experience 3-5 years for Bachelor’s degree; 0-2 years for Master’s degree in relevant roles. Additional Qualifications Experience in full life-cycle systems engineering of security technologies. Knowledge of secure system design, program protection plans, and security documentation. Familiarity with cryptography, supply chain operations, and risk management. Proficiency with tools like DOORS, MATLAB, Python. Security Requirements Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance; current Secret clearance required, Top Secret preferred.
