Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Pipefitters for projects located in San Diego, CA . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience plus $150/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

n
    n
  • Install and maintain ships piping systems such as; steam, heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure and oil lines
    • n
  • Reading blueprints, layouts and work orders
    • n
  • Working with hand tools and shop machines
    • n
  • Plan layout of pipe sections, cuts and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for installation of pipes
    • n
  • Operate shop machines to cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings including; valves, traps and thermostats
    • n
  • Bend pipe to specified shape
    • n
  • Bolt on pipe bending fixtures
    • n
  • Bolt or weld brackets to support pipe systems
    • n
  • Connect pipes to fixtures such as heat exchangers, laundry and galley equipment, pumps, tanks and other ship equipment
    • n
  • Repair packs and adjust valves
    • n
  • Test installed systems for leaks and ensure systems meet specifications
    • n
  • Perform other related tasks assigned
    • n

Responsibilities

    n
  • Must have OSHA 10, Maritime and Firewatch Certifications
    • n
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
    • n
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS
    • n
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
    • n
  • 2+ years of on the job training in pipefitting or 3+ years of experience is required
    • n
n
