In this dynamic role as a Senior Engineer in MEP & Energy Systems, you will spearhead critical projects focusing on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, as well as energy efficiency and HVAC systems.

You will have the opportunity to design, optimize, and maintain essential building systems while driving initiatives for improved energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. By managing impactful projects, you will play an important role in fulfilling Kohler's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.

On-site presence is required for specific projects, and occasional travel (up to 20%) may be necessary. We are open to considering a hybrid work model for the ideal candidate.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead design and optimization of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, including power distribution and building management.
  • Develop and oversee detailed engineering plans and specifications for MEP projects.
  • Conduct HVAC load calculations, airflow analyses, and electrical load assessments to enhance system performance.
  • Perform feasibility assessments and risk mitigation planning for MEP installations.
  • Manage project packages encompassing scope, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and commissioning.

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

  • Champion initiatives to enhance energy efficiency across electrical and mechanical systems, targeting reductions in energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate high-efficiency solutions into facility design.
  • Serve as a resource on energy-efficient technologies and operational improvements.

Project Management

  • Own high-priority projects from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders and vendors to deliver projects within budget and timeline.
  • Communicate project status and challenges clearly to senior leadership.

Mentorship & Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers to cultivate technical expertise and effective communication.
  • Facilitate collaboration among engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Develop potential leadership skills for future management opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC and building systems engineering.
  • Experience with building management systems, HVAC, and electrical systems is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as NFPA and ASHRAE.
  • Proven project management experience; PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and knowledge of energy efficiency frameworks.
