POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, the Sr. Short-Range Planning Engineer is accountable for managing short-range projects, designs and plans at Pinto Valley Mine.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

n

n
• Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
n
• Ensure all activities are compliant with Company policies and procedures, federal and state regulations as well as local regulatory agencies.
n
• Strong collaboration and communication of plans with various stakeholders.
n
• Coordinate work planning with Mine Ops and short-range engineers to ensure objectives are being met in the short-range.
n
• Participate in all safety programs and initiatives
n
• Mentor and develop short range team
n
• Track key projects and ensure they are being carried out on time and with the required quality control
n
• Design short term dumps, ramps, and projects.
n
• Develop and track KPIs to ensure daily and weekly objectives are being met.
n
• Regular field visits with stakeholders to measure progress and quality of work.
n
• Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
n
• Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

n

n
• 5 to 10 years of mining experience.
n
• Mine Engineering or similar degree.
n
• Knowledge of drill-blast-load-haul open pit mining sequence is .
n
• Prior experience in a copper operation strongly .
n

n

Key Competencies / Skills

n

n
• Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
n
• Experience with SAP or similar purchasing program.
n
• Prior exposure to mine planning software (Vulcan, MineSight, Terrain, AcQuire) is .
n
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
n
• Strong project management skills required.
n
• Quick learner with proactive mindset.
n
• Proven ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
n
• Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
n
• Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This role is generally 85% office environment and 15% field environment.
n
• Must have ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
n
• Must have ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
