  • Hourly pay up to $33.50 per hour, based on experience
  • Monday - Friday, 3:30am-12:00pm

Position Purpose:

We prioritize the safety of our associates! The Class A Diesel Mechanic Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and overhauling all company fleet diesel equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards for a safe operational environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Class A Diesel Mechanic Technician diagnoses and repairs medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units), identifying root causes of failures and executing necessary repairs.
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other crucial components to ensure proper operating conditions, which may require part replacements.
  • Verifying that equipment has the necessary licensing and registration before declaring it as roadworthy.
  • Documenting all work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance using our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computer systems.
  • Conducting routine maintenance, including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication using various hand and power tools.
  • Training and guiding other mechanics in their duties.
  • Executing other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required.

5 - 7 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnostics, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and at least 2 years in refrigeration and/or heavy-duty diesel engine and transmission overhauls and rebuilds.
