Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Principal electrical engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of high-voltage, high-reliability electronics for active implantable medical devices. As a Principal Engineer, youll contribute to life-changing technologies by designing circuits for therapy delivery, power management, and high-voltage charging. Youll own key aspects of the design process while collaborating with a seasoned team, offering strong technical and career growth opportunities. Responsibilities include circuit design and troubleshooting, data-driven problem solving, component selection, documentation, and progress tracking. Youll communicate clearly with stakeholders, contribute to intellectual property development, and work cross-functionally to ensure project success. This role also involves mentoring others and maintaining a strong commitment to patient safety and product quality through compliance with all relevant procedures.

Skills and Requirements

n

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.

n

9+ years of Electrical Engineering experience with bachelors degree, or 7+ years with Masters.

n

Experience in high-voltage power supply design with a focus on hardware-specific design.

n

Experience utilizing EMI/EMCs for board-level circuit design using Altium or similar packages.

n

Lab experience including troubleshooting, testing, fixture development/usage, and the operation of test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.)

n

Expertise in circuit design analysis techniques and simulation tools such as LTSpice.

n

Medical device experience or highly regulated field Experience with medical device electronics and systems.

n

Experience with communication protocols and transceiver module integration.

n

Experience using electrical engineering analysis techniques to map high-level requirements into circuit specifications.

n

Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, and/or Python for use in automation, simulation, and data analysis.

n

Experience with firmware debugging, digital logic, and FPGA development.

n

Ability to solve complex problems with root cause analysis, including designing and executing experimental plans and using statistical methodologies to drive data-based decisions.

n

Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.

n

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently to plan, schedule, and execute activities necessary to meet project timelines. null
