Summary About the Position: Perform the full range of unit, intermediate and, as authorized, depot level maintenance on single rotor helicopters powered by turbine engines. This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities Conduct inspections on rotary wing aircraft and systems. Perform post flight inspections. Adjust oil and fuel pressure, flight controls, power controls, and engine trim. Performs functional tests to ensure proper operation of aircraft. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Broad experience with various types of rotary wing aircraft in order to correct malfunctions of systems, subsystems, major assemblies and components; use diagnostic and test equipment to include operation of ground support equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Troubleshooting Use of Measuring Instruments May occasionally be required to lift and carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Work is dirty, greasy, and unpleasantly noisy. Work is performed both inside and outside. Inside work is performed on concrete floors where areas are drafty and occasionally damp, and where fumes are present. Outside areas are unprotected from elements such as wind, rain, snow, and wide temperature variations. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a( #17 Career Field position.
