AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to support water/wastewater treatment and distribution projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philadelphia, PA, Conshohocken, PA or Newark, DE) to join the AECOM Water team. This position is expected to start January or June 2026.

n

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

n
    n
  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • n
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • n
  • Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • n
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD MEP.
  • n
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • n
  • Water/Wastewater treatment evaluation and design.
  • n
  • Pump station evaluation and design.
  • n
  • Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
  • n
  • Sewer collection system evaluation and design.
  • n
  • Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design.
  • n
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to sites in the northeastern US.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

n
    n
  • ​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • n
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License, and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review.
  • n
n

Preferred Qualifications:

n
    n
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
  • n
  • GIS and CAD skills.
  • n
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
  • n
  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position. (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic modeling).
  • n
  • Detail-oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.
  • n
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • n
  • Strong logic and writing skills.
  • n
  • Documents time and effort accurately.
  • n
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
  • n
  • Good communication skills.
  • n
  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules.
