The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education (GPE) is a unit of the Office of the Provost with a mission that supports Georgia Tech¿s mission by providing services, advocacy, and development programs for graduate students and postdocs, as well as oversight and strategic initiatives to graduate education. Job Summary The Communications Officer I role supports marketing, recruitment, and strategic initiatives across the unit. This position plays a key role in developing compelling content, managing digital platforms, and collaborating across units to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and effectiveness of GPE's communications. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with advanced communication skills, has experience with CRM platforms (preferred experience with Slate), and demonstrates a flair for design and visual storytelling. They should be able to create light graphic design assets using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools. A strong candidate will be capable of assisting with GPE's website redesign efforts by writing and editing webpage copy, as well as using data to make informed recommendations and refinements to outreach efforts. Additionally, experience in social media management planning, scheduling, and publishing content that meets and upholds Georgia Tech's branding guidelines. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Conduct and utilize market research as necessary to recommend appropriate marketing communications strategies
Job Duty 2 - Develop content and oversee the design and production process for print collateral
Job Duty 3 - Consult with academic and/or administrative personnel to acquire the necessary information about the subject
Job Duty 4 - Confer with Institute Communications and Marketing to ensure that Institute graphic and style standards are followed in all material
Job Duty 5 - Obtain cost estimates, collaborate in the selection of illustrators and printers and approve their work, as required
Job Duty 6 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications This jobs requires exposure to higher than average noise levels, handling objects up to 100 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
