Deepening connection and operating with speed, the APLA (Asia Pacific Latin America) Express Lane team looks to serve consumers with speed and specificity with a focus on the Key Cities of Tokyo, Seoul & Mexico City.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR? We’re looking for a Lead Designer, Color & Graphics for Footwear & Apparel who will work with a cross-functional team of design, product management, and development partners. The ideal candidate is a creative who understands how to deliver story and style. Through the design of Footwear and Apparel product, this role will create industry leading head-to-toe collections that connect with local consumer expression through authentic local narratives. The candidate will craft unique work with Color and Graphic Design in conjunction with Materials, Trims and Details to create highly covetable product that connects to the Streetwear and Lifestyle consumer in their local market. They have an eye for detail and motivation to craft premium product. This role has a unique opportunity to drive hyperlocal narrative and a holistic vision for style that resonates with Streetwear and Lifestyle consumers in the Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography. Ideal candidates will have previous experience with the APLA consumer and marketplace, with a particular focus on Japan and South-Korea.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON?
This designer will work with their cross-functional partners to understand the needs of the consumer and create an inspiring product narrative using market trend and local cultural insights. They will create a vision for Footwear & Apparel collections by telling unique hyper local stories that resonate with Streetwear and Lifestyle consumers. They will make world class head-to-toe product expressions using Graphic and Color Design in collaboration with Materials, Trim and Development experts. Most importantly, they will craft unique, highly sought after product that connects on a deeper level. If this is you, you’ll be working with the *** and APLA Express Lane teams to design Footwear and Apparel products that bring energy to local markets. Day-to-day tasks include: consumer and trend research, project management, communicating design intent through presentations and mood boards, sketching and exploration, collaboration with others designers, design reviews, product CAD and tech pack creation.
We’re looking for a Lead Designer to support additional workloads within the Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography footwear design team. This role will create industry leading footwear collections that connect with local consumer expression through authentic local narratives. They’ll craft unique work with Color and Graphic Design in conjunction with Materials, Trims and Details to create highly covetable products that connect to the Streetwear and Lifestyle consumer in the APLA local markets.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH? You will be working with APLA geography experts in insights, marketing, product, development and design with a strong connection to the Brand. You will collaborate with functional experts and leadership in Color, Material, Graphic and Footwear and Apparel Product Design across various parts of the business.
WHAT YOU BRING?
BA/BFA/MA/MFA/Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Product Design or related field preferred 5+ years relevant work experience in Graphic Design, Color Design, Product Design Strong passion for research and gathering cultural and market insights Effective communicator and collaborator with cross-functional partners Proven ability to create concepts, iterate and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary product and creative team in a fast-paced environment Understanding and ability to concept based on a holistic head-to-toe design expression inclusive of footwear and apparel Connection to contemporary art & design, sport and streetwear trends Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines Creates graphics that are Industry leading, trend right and that consistently incorporate consumer/athlete insights through powerful storytelling, emotional connectivity and relevance Produces presentation materials in conjunction with design and category teams that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences Proficient ability to apply and perform color and graphic design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and graphic design Uses advanced design skills to create original graphic and/or textile designs that appropriately reflect brand design ethos Computer literate using Mac platforms with a high digital design acumen in design-based software (Creative Suite) Experience with 3D and AI Design tools is not required, but is a plus
Must Haves:
Lead color and material design for footwear Experience in Streetwear and Lifestyle fashions, and designing to local geography trends
Nice to Haves:
Experience or knowledge of APLA market, culture, trends, or product creation. This role has a unique opportunity to drive hyperlocal narrative and a holistic vision for style that resonates with Streetwear and Lifestyle consumers in the Asia Pacific Latin -America (APLA) geography. Ideal candidates will have previous experience with the APLA consumer Strong storytelling skills applied through graphics and materials Ability to work in a fast paced environment and collaborate with cross function product creation team
MUST include a portfolio demonstrating past work, storytelling, footwear, Streetwear and Lifestyle, and/or designing for local markets.

Storytelling in a color designers portfolio means you can follow their thought process on why certain colors were chosen. It should be clear of how they got from A to B.
