(CSD), Division of Motor Vehicles, is hiring for a
Driver License Examiner I
position located in Honolulu. This position is responsible for administering written and visual acuity tests and conducting road performance tests to determine applicant eligibility for motor vehicle driver license categories 1 through 3.
As a
Driver License Examiner I , your duties and responsibilities will include:
Administering written and oral examinations and conducting road performance tests to determine applicants' eligibility for various operators licenses. Issuing driver licenses and instructions permits. Scoring administered test. Applying knowledge of traffic laws and ordinances. Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :
Two (2) years of supervisory, driver training instructional, regulatory or related experience,
including or supplemented
by one (1) year of frequent public contact which involved explaining rules and regulations to others in
determining their eligibility or non-eligibility for licenses, benefits or similar matters .
LICENSE REQUIREMENT :
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), at the time of application.

Verification Requirement : At the time of interview, you must provide a current certified traffic abstract issued by the District Courts.
