Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Armed Protection Officer for their Healthcare Security Client in Northern and Southern California. JOB SUMMARY : As part of the Regional Security Services team, the Armed Protection Officer (APO) is responsible for the physical and personal security for members, staff, and visitors within the healthcare client facilities. This includes responding to emergency situations, preserving order, and enforcing regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises. The APO will partner with security and clinical leaders to establish a unified care team to identify and mitigate security and workplace violence risks. To learn more visit our website : Armed Protection Officer Program Recruitment Page (bci-toolkit.com) Locations : Facility Safety & Incident Response Respond to crimes in progress and take appropriate action on the exterior of the healthcare facility Make private person arrests when necessary and within policy Respond into healthcare facility interior for Code Gray responses Lead de-escalation efforts Provide a professional security presence Act as a safety ambassador for the facility Provide campus safety recommendations Liaison with administrative and clinical leadership Establish and maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement Prevention of Workplace Violence (PWV) Serve as the facility subject matter expert on the Prevention of Workplace Violence Respond to violent incidents of workplace violence Stay current on training and trends in the PWV field Threat Management Lead and support threat management investigations Mitigate potential threats through collaboration with key stakeholders and the Threat Management Team Training Provide Prevention of Workplace Violence training to staff Train and evaluate new officers Required Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated success working in a highly regulated work environment Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach appropriate decisions Highly organized and detail-oriented Effective management of subordinates Strong interpersonal skills High level of integrity and professionalism Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands Follow through, meet deadlines, and build relationships with minimal oversight Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Exercise independent judgment and employ strong reasoning skills Work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision Comfort with internal systems or ability to learn new systems Excellent time management and organization skills Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Approachable, professional, and positive demeanor Willingness to travel on short notice and during non-standard hours Required Experience Prior experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement is required. Roles as a security guard, whether armed or unarmed, do not fulfill this requirement on their own. Required Education HS Diploma or GED Required Qualifications Ability to pass physical aptitude test (PAT) Valid Driver’s License California BSIS Guard Card and Permit for Exposed Firearms Proficiency with authorized firearms and equipment Minimum Qualifications at Entry : Be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED Reliable communication means (e.g., cell phone) Legal right to work in the US Valid government-issued driver’s license or ID Active state-issued guard card Successful completion of pre-employment screening (Drug Test, Health Screen, Criminal Background Check, Personality Inventory) Ability to wear N95 masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines Complete healthcare competency assessment and training on defusing assaultive behaviors
