Tulane University . Summary The Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for the continuous evolution of the workstation computing environment. This position handles the technical implementation of workstation management, application deployment and updates, and asset management. It involves proposing, designing, and implementing enhancements to the current environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Technically proficient with a customer service mindset and security as a top priority. Ability to multitask across different technologies. Flexibility and adaptability. Understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing. Knowledge of PC and laptop hardware and troubleshooting techniques. Skilled with Active Directory, Exchange, ActiveSync, and Mobile Device Management systems like Microsoft Intune. Ability to work with demanding users in a fast-paced environment. Effective handling of user difficulties. Strong commitment to IT policy use. Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and security software. Skilled with Active Directory, Security Groups, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, SD-WAN, and VLAN. Knowledge of network troubleshooting methods. Logical processing of information to reach solutions. Exceptional communication skills focused on customer service. Quick thinking, high energy, professionalism, analytical and problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, and critical thinking. Manage support ticket queues, ensuring incidents are resolved within SLAs. Respond to end-user requests and follow up promptly. Coordinate with vendors for hardware support. Prioritize tasks effectively using decision-making processes. Ensure proper and timely task execution. Manage multiple priorities efficiently. Required Education And/or Experience Bachelors Degree with 5 years of experience in mobile device and system management. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, etc. Experience with Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and other workstation management platforms.
