EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY TRANSPLANT ICU MEDICAL DIRECTOR

The Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F & MCW) Transplant Service Line is seeking a Medical Director for the dedicated Transplant ICU.

We are looking for a leader with expertise in managing acute and chronic liver disease, liver transplant recipients, and kidney/pancreas transplant recipients with critical care needs.

The leader will work closely with the Surgical and Medical directors of Liver transplantation to expand the liver program. The adult transplant ICU is a 20-bed unit admitting approximately 500 patients annually. Many patients are referred for management of liver failure and transplant evaluation. Care involves a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, hepatologists, dieticians, transplant ID specialists, PT/OT, and pharmacists. The TICU team comprises highly trained ICU nurses, transplant surgery APPs, and intensivists from medicine, emergency medicine, and surgery.

Opportunity

  • Appointment within the transplant service line, including thoracic and abdominal transplantation.
  • Full-time faculty position within the MCW Divisions of Trauma/Acute Care Surgery and Transplant Surgery.
  • Support for expanding the liver program in collaboration with liver services leadership.
  • Participation in clinical education of fellows, residents, medical students, and trainees.
  • Promotion of a patient-centered care approach, emphasizing quality and safety.
  • Contributions to the academic, research, and educational missions of the institution.
  • Strong support for clinical research.

Education, training, and experience required:

  • Board Certified in Critical Care.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin.
  • Experience managing decompensated liver disease and post-transplant liver/kidney/pancreas patients.
